Lisa D’Amico's art primarily focuses on translating human emotions. She strives to reproduce these emotions through a deep fascination with color, shape and composition and the struggles that occur between them.
Her creative process usually begins with a series of sketches to a full-sized drawing, which she re-draws on the canvas, paper or printing block. Her technique for the actual artwork involves building up areas of color through the application of many layers of paint, latex and ink to achieve vibrant color effects and multitudes of texture.
Lisa is an ivy league educated artist and educator with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Fine Arts in addition to a Doctorate in Education. She is a NY and NJ certified art teacher with over 20 years teaching experience. She has been exhibiting her artwork since childhood and has won many awards and accolades along her journey.
Lisa is also an accomplished curator in the tri-state area. She has curated over 20 art exhibits for individual and group artists. She has dedicated her life and career to the arts and education.
